Sorghum Millet Noodles: a jowar variety for cooked meals
Sorghum, commonly known as jowar, is the named grain variety in these Vasudha Foods noodles. The 192g product includes sattvik masala and is intended to be boiled, drained and finished in a pan. It offers another vegetarian noodle choice alongside finger, foxtail, little and kodo millet varieties.
Serving and meal-planning ideas
Plan a savoury bowl for lunch or dinner when you have access to normal cooking equipment. Add any extra ingredients as part of your own recipe rather than assuming they are included. Although sorghum is the named grain, check the full noodle ingredients and allergen declaration if you require a gluten-free or other restricted diet.
Explore Finger Millet Noodles for a different millet variety for another option.
How to cook the millet noodles
- Boil the noodles in water and cook according to the pack's directions.
- Drain off the cooking water and allow excess water to drain away.
- Heat a little oil in a pan, add the cooked noodles and the sattvik masala supplied with the pack, then toss together to finish.
Noodles need cooking; do not use the instant-meal hot-water resting method for them. Remove any non-food sachet if present, keeping it separate from the edible masala.
Shelf life and storage
Unopened shelf life: 1 year from the manufacturing date. Check the date and follow the storage instructions printed on your pack. This unopened shelf life does not apply after opening or preparation; follow the label's directions for opened food.
